Should I wait before taking the NEW Virtual Clinical PCE in 2021? Am I a guinea pig?

I believe the answer is NO. You should not wait before deciding to write the new clinical PCE exam.

There are a lot of positives I take from the new structure of the 2021 virtual exam. They have implemented things that I believe are LESS stressful than the previous exam.

1) There are less stations! From 16 stations to 12 stations.
2) The exam is held in two separate sessions over two days.
3) You possibly save money from not having to fly to a different province to write the exam.
4) Being comfortable in your own environment! It’s a less stressful environment compared to doing the exam face to face.

At the moment, CAPR has not decided on whether they will go back to the previous in-person exam in 2022 (if the pandemic improves) or if they will stick to the new 2021 virtual exam structure. What we know at the moment is that even if the pandemic improves in 2021, all Clinical PCE exams will be held virtually in 2021.

Despite this being the first time CAPR is running the exam virtually, I think the benefits of the virtual exam structure outweigh the old structure.
